Hello Families & Students,
I wanted to reach out to the families that I have had the privilege to work with this year and those families that I will be working with next year. I wanted to share resources and ideas of things that you could do over the summer to start the year out right. Top of the list is read! The more you can read this summer the better start you and your student will have in the upcoming year. Read to self, read aloud, listen to books online, listen to stories online. Some of the resources to support prolific reading this summer: https://www.storylineonline.net/ (read aloud stories told by many of the celebrities that you know and love) https://www.lexiacore5.com/register (if you previously have used Lexia you will have access to it over the summer) https://www.getepic.com/sign-in (there should be access to epic through the summer for families) https://sonomalibrary.org/ (Sonoma County Library has so many e-resources available, check them out and explore all that is available) There are a variety of resources available to you through the school this summer that will help keep all students up to date and ready for their next grade adventures! https://accounts.explorelearning.com/reflex/student (Reflex will keep your students fluent in math facts and give them a chance to even get ahead of the game J) https://www.ixl.com/ (IXL has many subjects and skills to offer!) Doing art and Makers projects are also a great way to keep your minds and creative minds nimble. It has been my privilege to work with all of the students and their families this last school year and I look forward to welcoming my new students and their families in the upcoming school year. Love, Maris P.S. Hello Families,
I have loved connecting with many of the students over Zoom. It has given connection and a small sense of normalcy to this unusual time. We have been working on skills digitally and hopefully they are finding a base understanding to these concepts. I am working off of information that we have learned together throughout this year. I appreciate all of you and those that have the ability to fully participate during this difficult time, thank you, I know that it is hard work. Those families that are having difficulty participating please reach out to me so that I can help. I am willing to make accommodations that would be possible during this time to help your child actively participate. I can be reached at [email protected] or you can leave a message for me at the school and I will get the message. The schedule of work is posted to Google Classroom. We have art on Mondays, on zoom, with Maria at 1 o'clock and class, on zoom, Tuesday through Friday at 10 o'clock. I love seeing the kids. Have a wonderful week. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any assistance. Thank you! Hello Families,
I hope this message finds you all well. Please make sure you are checking Google Classroom :) There is an update to our class/zoom schedule. Maria, our art teacher, has offered to work with the students on zoom once a week. She will be doing a zoom class with the students on Mondays at 1 o'clock. The link is on Google Classroom. We will continue to have our 10 o'clock meetings Tuesday through Friday. I appreciate everyone is doing everything they can. Thank you, I am trying make the work as accessible and independent as possible for the kids. As always please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. [email protected] Have a great week! |
