Wow! I cannot believe we are already starting the fourth week of school!
I would like to thank and complement you all on having your students be present and engaged. I know how difficult this is for many people so I appreciate all the effort and commitment that you are putting forth! You all, kids and parents, are amazing! We wrapped up our unit on culture this past week and their knowledge will help inform them with ongoing ideas and work this year. It was so fun learning about each person. We also finished up our unit on rounding to 10's and 100's. It seems like we have a firm grasp on the concepts. This coming week I will be doing assessments. Please try to make sure that your child has a quiet space where they can do these and let them work independently. It is important that I know where they are at academically so I can appropriately plan and meet their needs as students. I appreciate your help with this. Monday is Labor Day, no school! Tuesday math assessment, following morning meeting. Wednesday language arts assessment following morning meeting. Thursday reading assessment following morning meeting. Friday reading fluency assessment following morning meeting. These assessments take between 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the student. There will be light work for them to do after the assessment. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. My email: [email protected] or remind app or call the school 525-9223. Sorry I don't have pictures to post! I will try to remember to take some on Zoom this coming week! Have a wonderful week and happy Labor Day.
